Mixing up some coffee cake:
First, in a bowl, combine the 1 cup Sour Creamsour cream and 1 tsp. Baking Sodabaking soda. Then, in the mixer, mix the ½ cup Butter (soft)butter, 1 cup Sugarsugar, 2 large Eggs (well beaten)eggs, and 1 tsp. Vanillavanilla until well combined. Next, sift the 1¾ cups All-Purpose Flourflour and 2 tsp. Baking Powderbaking powder together. After that, slow the mixer to its slowest setting and add flour mixture and sour cream mixture alternately. Finally, mix till well mixed.
Now, take a separate bowl and mix ¼ cup Brown Sugarbrown sugar and 1 tbsp. Cinnamoncinnamon till well combined. Also the 2 tbsp. finely chopped Walnutswalnuts are optional. Then, in a tube pan or 8 inch pan, pour 1/2 the batter into pan and use 1/2 of the brown sugar mixture and cover evenly. Lastly, and gently pour in the rest of the batter and place the rest of the brown sugar mixture on top.
Cooking the coffee cake:
Finally, place in the oven at 350℉/176.7℃ for 45 minutes.
