
Doughnut Recipe
First of all, this recipe is for a more patient and more experienced baker. But, the outcome of your final product should be so delicious that you will want to make it more often. Doughnuts are good anytime and are sure to please. With that in mind, you can also use different icing recipes than the basic recipe posted here. Also, you can use sprinkles, can’t forget sprinkles. In conclusion, enough talking, let’s get started making some doughnuts!

Mixing up some doughnuts:
First take sauce pan and add ½ cup Milkmilk, bring to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in 3 tbsp. Sugarsugar, 2 tsp Saltsalt, and 3 tbsp. Margarinemargarine. Set aside and let cool to luke warm. Now, in the large bowl, add in the 1½ cup warm Waterwarm water and crumble or dump in the 1 cake or package Active Yeastyeast, stir until dissolved. Next, add in the luke warm milk mixture to the yeast.
After that, take about half the 5½ cups All-Purpose Flourflour and add to the mixture and stir until smooth. Then, slowly add rest of the 5½ cups All-Purpose Flourflour until you make soft dough.
Now you will need to turn out into a slightly flour board, knead for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Next, take your dough and form into a ball and place into a slightly Shortening for Greasing pangreased bowl. Roll the dough in bowl make sure grease gets on top of the dough. Then cover and let rise for about 1 hour. Also make sure it’s a warm, free of draft area, will double in size. After that, punch down on dough and roll out to about 1/2 inch in thickness. Then cut with doughnut cutter.Lastly, place on greased baking sheets, cover and let rise for 1 hour.
Cooking up some doughnuts:
Now, try to handle doughnuts as little as possible to keep from falling. Then, depending on the size of how you are frying, stovetop or deep fryer, place in fryer only a few at a time. Fry about 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown on both sides at 375°F/190.6°C. Now place on absorbing paper such as paper bag, paper towel, etc…. to dry. Finally, while warm place in cinnamon-sugar or icing. Enjoy!
Oh! The Icing for the doughnuts:
First, in a small bowl, blend together 2 cups Confectioners Sugar confectioners sugar, ½ cup Milkmilk, and 1 tsp. Vanillavanilla. Then dip warm doughnuts into the glaze and place on a rack. Don’t forget to place wax paper or a platter underneath to collect any unused glaze to reuse.
