Macaroni salad that would make grandma proud

Although this recipe is not much different from the recipe grandma used to make, there is one difference. Now, the taste is just a little bit different, but, it is still very delicious. With that in mind, one day while making macaroni salad, I found out that there was only a little vinegar left. So, instead of running to the store, I used pickle juice/brine from bread and butter pickles. It was fantastic. So now I use it all the time when making macaroni salad. Now, that’s the only little difference in grandma’s recipe there is. On the other hand, if your not into sweet pickles, then just replace the pickle brine/juice with vinegar. It is still very delicious. And now, we get to everyone’s favorite part, let’s get started!

Cooking Time: 17 minutes

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Servings: about 10 cups

What you are going to need:

 1 pound Macaroni

 5 large Eggs

 1 chopped medium Green Pepper

 2 chopped medium Stalks of Celery

 1 chopped medium Yellow Onion

 15 minced Bread and Butter Pickles

 2 cups Mayonnaise

 2 tablespoons Yellow Mustard

 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar

 1 tablespoon Bread and Butter Pickle Brine

 1/4 cup Sugar

 1 teaspoon Salt

 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

 1 teaspoon Paprika

 Large Bowl with lid

 Spoon

 2 Pots

 Cutting Broad

Mixing up some macaroni salad:

First you’re going to want to boil your  1 lb. Macaronimacaroni for 17 minutes, and at the same time boil your 5 large Eggseggs for 15 minutes. Afterwards, take your boiled macaroni, place in the bowl, and eggs, to the side, and chill in the refrigerator until ready to use. Now, take your 1 medium Green Peppergreen pepper and slice them into strips and then chop them into little squares.

Then, take your macaroni out of the refrigerator and add the green pepper to to them. Next, take and slice off both ends of your celery and wash off.

Slice the 2 medium Celerycelery into small 1/8 slices and continue to slice towards the other end of the celery (you may have to slice the celery down the middle to acquire smaller pieces) and place them in the bowl with your macaroni mixture. Then, take the 1 medium Oniononion and chop it into little pieces and place into bowl. Now, take the 15 slices Bread and Butter Picklespickles and mince them up, not too fine, but into little minced pieces, add to bowl. After that, take the eggs from the refrigerator, then chop them up and place in the bowl. Don’t chop eggs to small though. Now gently mix all the ingredients in the bowl together.

Mixing up the dressing:

Second part of making macaroni salad is the dressing. Now, what you’re going to need is a big cup or a small bowl. Then, place the 2 cups Mayonnaisemayonnaise into whichever one you chose. Now, add to the mayonnaise, the 2 tbsp. Yellow Mustardyellow mustard and stir the mixture a little. After that, add the 1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegarapple cider vinegar to the mixture, along with the 1 tbsp. Bread and Butter Pickle Brinebread and butter brine and mix throughly.

And then, take your 1/4 cup Sugarsugar and add to the mixture and stir until mixture is not gritty anymore. At last, add the 1 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Pepper
salt and pepper
to the mixture along with the 1 tsp. Paprikapaprika, and mix throughly. Finally, take your dressing and pour over the macaroni mixture and mix gently until all ingredients is covered in dressing. Refrigerate.

Note: Now, when making dressing, taste buds vary from person to person. With that in mind, you can add a little or remove a little to make a dressing that fits you tastes.

And then, take your sugar and add to the mixture and stir until mixture is not gritty anymore. At last, add the salt and pepper to the mixture along with the paprika, and mix throughly. Finally, take your dressing and pour over the macaroni mixture and mix gently until all ingredients is covered in dressing. Refrigerate.
