Birdsnest upon the sweet fruits of nature

Birdsnest recipe

To start with, a birdsnest is a cake that goes on top of some sort of cooked fruit. Being that, this recipe has a delicious vanilla cake flavor and a moist texture. As mentioned above, you can use it on top of fruit, such as, peaches, red raspberries, black raspberries, apples, blackberries, blueberries, and many more. However when baking these birdsnests, you want to keep in mind, that the more fruit you use will depend on if you have a layer or little nests.

For example, if you have about half pan full of fruit, you will notice that some of the fruit will be visible between the baked cake. In other words the less fruit you will have a full cake topping, as shown in the picture below. Also this recipe is only for the cake topping only. As a matter of fact, this is a friends recipe and thank you my friend, it’s awesome! With that in mind, let’s get started!

Prep time: 7 to 10 minutes

Temperature: 350°F/176.7°C

Cook time: 35 minutes

What you are going to need:

 2/3 cup Sugar

 1 Egg

 Butter size of an egg (about 3 tablespoons)

 1/2 cup Milk

 1½ cup Flour

 1½ teaspoon Baking Powder

 1 teaspoon Vanilla



 9×13 or 9×11 Cake Pan (Depending on the amount of fruit used)

Mixing up a birdsnest:

First take your Butter size of an egg (About 3 tbsp.)butter and softened it either, leave it set out till your ready, or melt it in the microwave.
Then take your 2/3 cup Sugar
1½ cup Flour
1½ tsp. Baking Powder
dry ingredients(flour, sugar, and baking powder) and place into bowl and mix them up.
Uncooked and then cooked
Next, add the 1 Egg
1/2 cup Milk
Melted Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
egg, butter, milk, and vanilla to the dry mixture and stir really well.

Now, after you got a nice smooth mixture, take a teaspoon of batter and place on top of hot fruit and place in oven for 35 minutes. After that, let cool a little, and enjoy.
