Chocolate Chip cookie recipe

Now, as you know, this is a recipe for homemade chocolate chip cookies. But, what you don’t know is, that a high percentage of the people that you ask are going to say that these are there favorite kind of cookies. So then, with this recipe, that is over three generations old, with slight changes, is going to show you the homemade way of baking chocolate chip cookies.

As it may be, the most important part of this recipe is the dough. The dough can also be used for many different kinds of cookies. For example, you can replace the chocolate chips, for candy coated chocolate pieces. Also, you can use chocolate chunks or chocolate cover peanuts. One thing for sure, is that it needs to be chocolate. Chocolate is the key sweetener, and it’s delicious, of course. Besides the sugar. So, enough with the talking and let’s get to baking.

Prep: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 – 11 minutes

Makes: about 3½ Dozen

Temperature: 375°F/191°C

What you will need:

 1 cup Shortening

 1 cup packed Brown Sugar

 ½ cup Sugar

 2 teaspoons Vanilla

 2 Eggs

 2¼ cups All-Purpose Flour

 1 teaspoon Baking Soda

 ½ teaspoon Salt

 1½ to 2 cups Chocolate Chips





 2 Cookies Sheets (any size, bigger the better)

Let’s mix up some chocolate chip cookies:

First, take your bowl and mixer 1 cup Shortening
1 cup Brown Sugar
½ cup Sugar
and add the shortening, packed brown sugar, and sugar.

Then, blend those ingredients together until they are smooth.

Next, take your 2 Eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
eggs and vanilla and add them to the mixture and blend until smooth.
After that, clean off mixer attachments aka beaters and then, add 2¼ cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
½ tsp. Salt
flour, baking soda, and salt to mixture.

Now, the reason we removed the “beaters” is, because it is much easier to mix by hand, with a spoon, than with the mixer. Plus, the out come is better. Not, sure why it makes the cookies taste better but it does. With that in mind, make sure dough is well mixed and there is no dry flour noticeable.

Finally, add the 1½ to 2 cups Chocolate Chipschocolate chips to the mixture and mix well and evenly.

Baking time:

First of all, your baking sheet needs greased, with cooking spray or shortening. For best results, use parchment paper. Now, take your chocolate chip cookie batter and your spoon and drop a little over 1 inch or bigger drops of batter on the cookie sheet. Continue spooning out drops and spacing them 1 inch apart, until pan is full. Lastly, place in the oven and bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Also, keep in mind you want to be filling the second baking sheet while the first is baking and so on. In addition, your cookies should come out fluffy, if you do not want them fluffy, press them down with a spatula.
